One of the most commonly mentioned reasons people love living in Point Roberts is the access we have to beautiful and inspiring natural areas. The Point and Lily Point in particular are known as the top eagle habitat in the Pacific Northwest due to the density of successful nests. In this 5 square mile refuge, we have 12 recognized nesting pairs of American Bald Eagles. David Hancock, naturalist and founder of Hancock Wildlife Foundation has been studying eagles for 50 years and frequently comes to Point Roberts to meet with our local wildlife advocates.
Several local photographers have generously allowed us to use their pictures on our Point Robert's sites and we hope you will give them credit in Social Media, visit their sites and purchase prints, paintings and books and join us in doing what we can to educate people who visit the area on practicing community conservation.
Denis Beauvais is a local BC photographer that takes outstanding eagle and wildlife photos. He's generously donated photos for the use of the Point Roberts sites, please be sure to include his credits if you share.
Sonya Liu generously donated great pictures and information about horseback riding and the equestrian community in Point Roberts. She is an active rider and a strong promoter of the Point Roberts community and lifestyle.
Kathryn Booth has taken many of the pictures and done all the graphics and most of the site content. She is not a professional photographer and her photos are a testimony to the power of photo editing and the lighting here and beauty being so abundant that pretty much anyone can take good pictures even with what her kids are calling a "ghetto" camera.
