White Rock, BC Eagle Cam - Wide View
|White Rock, BC Eagle Cam - Close-Up - Eagle Cam Central|
The White Rock Nest is just East of Point Roberts, WA, across Boundary Bay in White Rock, BC. The eagle pair is known as "Ma and Pa" and they have successfully fledged 2 eaglets in 2010. 2011 and 2012. An active forum on the Hancock Wildlife website discusses the soap opera their life sometimes seems. Last year, for example, after their post fledging trip to Alaska, "Pa" came back alone and was joined by 3 strange females (one at a time) who tried to move in on "Ma's" turf. She returned several weeks later, sniffed around and was none too happy. Forum watchers wished they could tell her how faithful and true he'd been, but it all worked out fine.
Established by DAVID HANCOCK in 2006 to broaden his, at that time, almost 50 years of lecturing and teaching about wildlife and conservation to include the web. The Foundation's mandate is to use the internet in general and live streaming wildlife video in particular to promote the conservation of wildlife and its habitats through science, education, and stewardship.
In David's words, "Our first live cameras reached and taught more people in a 4 month period than I had in all my years of lectures combined. This is the way of the future."
